J. Fernando Diaz is an arranger/sound engineer based in Los Angeles. He is at the forefront of a diverse range of shows and projects for competitive and commercial use, all with a clean and elegant aesthetic.

J. Fernando Diaz is a percussionist, educator, and sound engineer in the greater Los Angeles area. After graduating from high school with honors from the Visual and Performing Arts Department, he enrolled in nearby Pasadena City College to explore his career paths before entering and successfully completing the Commercial Music Certification Program as part of the Performing and Communication Arts Division. He studied under Dr. Daniel Cole and Ramon Yslas. 

While a student at PCC, Fernando was a member and section leader in the marching percussion ensembles offered including the PCC Tournament of Roses Honor Band, PCC Lancer Marching Band, and the PCC Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble where he competed in circuits such as the American Drumline Association, Winter Guard International, and the Southern California Percussion Alliance. He was under the direction of Kyle Luck, Dr. James Arnwine, and Tad Carpenter. Fernando also marched Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps where he was taught under Matt Altmire, Dr. Kelly Flickinger, Dan Wahl, and Lucas Critchfield. 

Fernando has experience as a former Drill Designer/Program at places such as Hamilton High School Music Academy in Los Angeles, and was Percussion Caption Head/Arranger for Impulse Drum and Bugle Corp for the 2015 and 2016 season. Fernando currently currently works in the Glendale Unified School District, Pasadena City College, and the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets where he uses he is tasked with many musical roles in instruction, arranging, design, and audio engineering.
